Before you can dive into Gielinor, you’ll need to sign up. Here, you can make a RuneScape account – just make sure to include a valid email address, your date of birth, and a display name. From there, you can download the game client, and you’ll be ready to dive into Gielinor, where you’ll find all sorts of awesome things. There is so much to do in RuneScape, but what about after you’ve completed the tutorial? Are you the sort of person who wants to go out and do more of the exciting activities RuneScape has to offer?

Follow the path
Follow the path. By completing the tutorial you’ll get access to several features in the game, including the Path System. It’s highly recommended that both new and returning players follow the Path System because it’ll walk you through several important game features.
This includes the Daily Challenges and setting your bank PIN. You’ll be given three quests to complete, which serve as a proper introduction to the different modes of combat – melee, magic, and range.
The Path System not only provides a starter set of equipment and experience lamps to help your combat skills early on, but it also gives you a choice of paths for your journey. There are many ways to explore the game world, such as in-game travel, but if you want to do so without any restrictions, you can disable the Path System. To open the Adventure tab, click on the icon in the top left of your screen which looks like a green arrow. The ‘Adventure’ option should appear under the ‘Task Manager’ option.

Set off on an adventure
Set off on an exciting journey. Go off the beaten paths and outside of the tutorials to seek adventure. You can find the available quests in the Quest List tab, and you can get more info about each quest in the Journal Entry view.
This book is packed with information on how to get started in this new skill line. You’ll also learn what other quests are available, what they require, what their rewards are, and if you should take them. If you’re looking for a fur baby, head to west Varrock and talk to Gertrude. Finishing her mission will remunerate you with a little cat and some cooking experience.
The One Piercing Note quest, which takes place outside the Abbey of St. Elspeth Citharede, east of Al Kharid, is a murder mystery to solve. As you investigate, death occurs in the abbey. RuneScape offers over 220 quests, including some that will keep you occupied for an hour or two.
When you’re questing, make sure to activate the lodestones you discover as you travel, because they offer a free mode of transportation. And remember to play the silly joke that plays up to the game’s self-referential style.
Build up your character
This game is a great way to build up your character. You must level up your skills, as it unlocks new abilities, equipment, and quests. There are 27 skills, of which 17 are available to free-to-play players.

While you might be tempted to focus your training on one skill, we recommend that newcomers try to spread out their training across all of your skills so you have a well-rounded character. The whole experience is pretty casual, though, and you can choose how much you want to lean into the training process.
If you’re considering taking up fly fishing, you can get started right away. There are no lessons to complete, so you can pick any topic you like and start training your new skill immediately. You can learn to cook along with fly fishing, too.
You can either sell your loot or keep it for lengthy battles (no, not as weapons – you can eat them to regain health). If you’re more interested in the combats than the loot, then Lumbridge Catacombs is a great starting dungeon – though be aware you’ll have to complete the Blood Pact quest before you can access it.
While you’re exploring the catacombs, you can find hidden statues and sell them for profit, too. While you’re doing all of this, set yourself a level or XP focus by right-tapping on your picked ability in the Skill tab.
Get a handle on combat
The combat system from Guild Wars 2 has been completely revamped, which includes both dual-wielding and ranged weapons. This tutorial will teach you everything you need to know to play as a tank, damage dealer, or healer.
If you prefer the old style of combat, you can still opt to fight in Legacy Mode, which simplifies combat to auto-attacks and special attacks. The default mode is EoC combat, but it’s worth switching to legacy combat as soon as you feel comfortable. Go to Lumbridge Catacombs for a safe place to practice and get brave.

Joining a Clan
